Cub Scouts

In Cub Scouts, you'll have lots of fun, adventure, and activities with your den and pack. But there's more to it than that. Being a Cub Scout means you are a member of a worldwide youth movement that stands for certain values and beliefs. Cub Scouting is more than something to do. It's all about the Cub you are and the person you will
become.

Cub Scout Values
As a Cub Scout, you do your best and you help others. You learn the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. You also learn what they mean.

Cub Scout Leader Training

Baloo Training teaches leaders how to use the Pack Outdoor Program. In Baloo training leaders will learn skills needed to go Pack Camping, safety rules to protect everyone, how to plan and have fun, supplement advancement, planning campfires, cooking sanitation and more.

OLS Training teaches Webelo leaders the basic outdoor skills to lead a Webelos Den. In OWLS training, leaders will learn about Webelo Outdoor Adventure Pins, Den activities, knots and ropes, woods tools, fire building and more.

University of Scouting is an action-packed, fun-filled day of supplemental Scout Leader training.  It is offered once a year to provide knowledge, ideas, tools and resources to help adult leaders, volunteers and Scouts in their Scouting positions.  It is the only time during the year where you can find, all in one place, a wide variety of training opportunities in all program areas (Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, District Operations, and Council).

Cub Scout Advancement

The Scouting advancement program provides new learning opportunities and ranks to keep Scouting interesting.

Boys and girls of different ages have different ranks in Cub Scouting. As you go from Tiger Cub (age 7) to Webelos Scout (age 10), you learn new things and new skills that you use to meet new challenges as you get older.

Where you begin in Cub Scouting depends on your age at the time you join. If you join when you're in first grade, you will begin as a Tiger Cub. If you do not join until the third grade, you'll begin as a Bear Cub Scout. You won't have to go back and earn the Tiger Cub and Wolf badges.
