Blue Ridge Council Off-Season Camp Reservations
Camp Old Indian is available for use by units during the off-season (non-summer months) except during special events. The camp covers 915 acres with seven miles of hiking trails and three lakes for swimming, boating, and fishing. COI is great for Venture crews, Scout troops and Webelos and Arrow of Light dens. Water is available year-round at designated locations. Bath houses with restroom facilities are available March 15 – November 1; we are letting units use the two downstairs restrooms in the Trading Post November 1 – March 15.
Scouts: All Cub Scout packs, Scouts BSA troops, and Venture crews can utilize the camps for hiking, camping, fishing, and a variety of other activities. Please note that Cub packs may NOT reserve any of the ranges as per the Guide to Safe Scouting.
Major facilities available are campsites with adirondacks, cabins for small troops, program shelters for day use and the camp canoes. Note all have a usage charge except the “No Program Shelter-Day use only” option under Program Areas where NO shelter is reserved but allows the unit to come to camp for the day to do day hiking, orienteering or camp service at NO CHARGE; it notifies the camp that you are coming.
ALL reservations must be made before seven days out (for example, no LATER than the Friday BEFORE the Friday you arrive!)
Non-Scouts: Due to liability issues, the camps and and their facilities cannot be reserved by non-scouting groups.
