Blue Ridge Council Special Events
For nearly 100 years, the Blue Ridge Council, Boy Scouts of America has driven to make this country better one Scout at a time. Our aim is to create an atmosphere for our Scouts which is conducive to learning new skills, instilling values, improving self-confidence, strengthening bonds between family and friends, and providing an unparalleled Scouting experience!
Youth in Scouting learn to make the right choices, put others before themselves, and lead with compassion and confidence. These gifts are cherished well into adulthood and they become the leaders of tomorrow.
To continue our tradition of a quality program and to meet the demands of serving our growing Scouting membership, the Blue Ridge Council conducts numerous Special Events and fund raisers through out the year. Check out some of our amazing events below and find out how you can become more involved!
The Blue Ridge Council Patron Dinner
The 2019 Patron Dinner was another tremendous success in highlighting Scouting to the community and in recognizing the honorable Richard W. Riley with the Good Scout Award for his leadership and service. Through our sponsors and volunteers, more than $200,000 was raised to support Scouting programs in the Blue Ridge Council. On August 4th of 2019, Scouts and Patron sponsors were honored at Scout Night with the Greenville Drive baseball team.
The 2020 Patron Dinner will take place on March 10th at the Embassy Suites Greenville as we recognize CEO and President of ScanSource, Mike Baur, with the Good Scout Award. Not only was the event a great evening for support but the 2019 Council Auction was the best year yet and helped to raise over $54,000 for upstate Scouting programs. Items up for bid included resort stays, dinners, golf packages, and local vendor donations. The highlight of the evening was a live raffle to win a golf cart from Garrett’s Golf Cars.
